Hi I’m Steve Lambert, the Mayor of Aylesbury. I’d like to take a few moments to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. But also to reflect on what’s been a reall big year for us as a community and as a country. As we came together for the King’s Coronation in small gatherings and street parties across the town. We also had Soapbox Derby where I got to wave off all of those go karts as they zipped down Whitehill. We also had Aylesbury on Sea. Who would’ve thought we’d get so much sand in one park? We also had our music festival over the August Bank Holiday weekend where we had Live in the Park, Church in the Park as well as Proms in the Park. Also recently coming together for Christmas on the Cobbles where thousands of us gathered in Market Square to celebrate the festive spirit. I’d also like to thank the town councillors, staff and volunteers that help all of those run smoothly and safely for all of us in the town. Also to thank the hard work of my chosen charities, Youth Concern, Age UK Bucks as well as Aylesbury Foodbank. On that note, if you do have a couple of spare cans this Christmas, please drop them into a donation station anywhere in the town. It really does make a difference. On that note, i would just like to say I wish you all a very, very Merry Christmas and a happy new year.
