Sustainable Smart Swaps

Sustainable Aylesbury’s Sustainable Smart Swaps guide is now live!

You may want to do your bit to help the environment but may not know where to or how to start. This initiative is designed to help by giving ideas and tips on what you can do from small changes to much bigger ones, there’s lots we can do.

If everyone started by committing to making just one permanent swap who knows what further changes it could set in motion?

Share your sustainable swaps and you’ll be entered into a draw to win vouchers and/or products from Aylesbury Eco Stores.

Funded childcare for two-year-olds

15 hours of funded childcare per week is available for 2-year-olds during the school term if you claim some benefits.

You don’t have to use all of the 15 hours, you can take up as many as you like.

You can use this childcare at participating childminders, day nurseries, pre-schools and nursery schools (including those joined to a school).

If you’re eligible, you can take up this offer from the term after your child’s second birthday.

Visit Buckinghamshire Council’s Family Information Service website for more information.

Resources for Bucks Ukrainian refugees, hosts and community groups

A new online resource for individuals, charities and community groups providing support for Ukrainian refugees in Buckinghamshire has been launched by local charity Community Impact Bucks.

The webpage – Community Support for Ukrainian refugees in Buckinghamshire – provides information on the help already available in the county, and also details of where individuals and organisations can register their offers of support.

Buckinghamshire Council established the Bucks Ukraine Partnership, a cross-sector partnership, to coordinate support for Ukrainian refugees in the county. As part of this, Community Impact Bucks is leading the Community Capacity sub-group which is engaging with charities, community groups and individuals in the community who can offer support.
