Aylesbury Town Council is pleased to announce Pride in the Park is the latest event to be added to its Parklife Weekend line up.

This summer, Aylesbury will witness a historic event as Pride in the Park takes centre stage on Friday 23 August at Vale Park – the first Pride event of its kind to take place in the town.

Proudly organised by Aylesbury Community Pride and sponsored by Aylesbury Waterside Theatre, the free-to-attend celebration promises an evening of unity, diversity and entertainment.

Aylesbury Community Pride is a volunteer run organisation by a team of Aylesbury residents. Its mission is to boost viability, empathy and celebration of the LGBTQ+ community in Aylesbury.

Residents are invited to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community across a number of Pride in the Park stages.

At the heart of the festivities will be the main stage, hosting a dynamic lineup of performances from both local and renowned acts, from traditional drag to musical performances. Pride in the Park’s full line up is set to be announced in June and July.

Attendees can also explore the Bucks Radio Discovery Stage which will feature local talent and emerging artists plus there will be a chance to engage in insightful discussions at the Always Forward Marquee. A Community Engagement Area will provide an opportunity for attendees to connect with local charities and organisations, fostering connections and support within the community, including a live talk show podcast.

Founder of Aylesbury Community Pride, Alistair Marston, said: “I am so delighted to be at the helm of this historic milestone for the LGBTQ+ community in Aylesbury. The team and I have worked continuously to make Pride in the Park a standout inclusive event, unlike any other.”

Limited performance slots are available for local talent. Interested performers are encouraged to secure their slot as soon as possible. Click here to email info@aylesbury-community-pride.co.uk for further information.

Pride in the Park is made possible thanks to the generous sponsorship from Aylesbury Waterside Theatre, and funds provided by the National Lottery Community Fund, Rothschild Foundation Grant and Fairhive Thriving Communities Fund, with support from Aylesbury Town Council.

Pride in the Park will take place in Vale Park on Friday 23 August from 5-9:30pm. Click here to visit the Aylesbury Community Pride website for further event details.

Pride in the Park joins the Parklife Weekend line-up alongside long-standing events including Live in the Park (24 August) and Proms in the Park (25 August).
